Accommodation​


​​The Residency where medical students are accommodated is situated at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital site. On occasions it may be necessary to accommodate students elsewhere such as Burnley General Teaching Hospital or in off-site flats or houses.
 
Accommodation is available to all our medical students should they wish to stay onsite but is chargeable at £75 per week. Accommodation may be available for elective and overseas students but cannot be guaranteed as this is dependent on capacity. ​The residence has 40 rooms which are available for medical students. The single rooms comprise of fitted wardrobe, bed, bedside cabinet, study desk and chair. There are shared bath/shower/toilet, cooking, ironing facilities, television lounge on each floor. Coin operated laundry and public telephone are on the ground floor.
 
Bed linen and weekly cleaning of your room is provided by our housekeepers. Should you wish to bring your own bed linen it must be laundered by yourself. If your wish to bring your own TV you must provide your own TV licence.
 
Whilst the accommodation is not what you would classify as 5* luxury accommodation, it is clean, warm, and secure. It has wifi access throughout and most importantly is situated onsite so you commute to placement is a mere stroll across the road!

Common Room

​The student common room is located at the Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital on Level 3 near wards C2 & C4 to the left at the end of the corridor. To access the common room you must go through the first set of blue doors and the common room is near the lockers on the right.
