Cadet Nurse Scheme
East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust currently facilitate the Cadet Nurse Scheme for 16-18 year students from our local colleges on the Health & Social Care extended Level 3 Diploma.
ELHT offers placements to Cadet Nurses from a partnership with Burnley, Blackburn & Nelson & Colne Colleges.
Placements are offered across the Trust including health centres. Students are supported with a dedicated mentor on clinical placements to support their programme of learning. Bespoke training and pastoral care is carried out by the Cadet Facilitator.
Placements used as part of this course support students gain further knowledge around the clinical settings, working with different nurses and other healthcare professionals to support them on placement giving them an insight into the careers in the NHS.

What is the Cadet Nurse Scheme? The Cadet Nurse Scheme allows you to get a real hands-on experience within a hospital environment where you can gain experience working in areas such as wards, outpatients, clinics, maternity services, children’s services, community areas and more.
