The main aims of the WBET team are to: 
​
  • Engage with schools and colleges to raise the awareness of the variety of careers in the NHS and apprenticeships pathway in the NHS. 
  • Facilitate work experience placements for students from our footprint to offer them an insight into NHS Careers. 
  • Support and mentor students from local colleges on the Cadet Scheme. 
  • Offer a range of apprenticeships to existing and new staff within ELHT to support their role or career progression. 
  • Widening Access  scheme to support all members of our local community gain employment within ELHT.​

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships are available for substantive staff at ELHT. Apprenticeships are linked to an accredited course from Level 2 (intermediate) – Level 7 (Master’s degree) covering both clinical and non-clinical job roles.​

Cadet Nurse Scheme

ELHT currently facilitates the Cadet Nurse Scheme for 16-18 year students from our local colleges on the Health & Social care extended Level 3 Diploma.
