Functional Skills

Functional Skills are the fundamental English and Maths skills that people need for their working and personal lives. People can study for the qualifications in practical ways and apply core skills to real-life situations. Successive governments have championed these flexible courses to equip people with the essential skills they need to succeed.

East Lancashire Hospitals are offering all staff a chance to gain a Level 2 qualification in English or Maths free of charge.

Did you know?

Our team who specialise in adult learners will support you to gain this qualification usually between 10-15 weeks.

You just need to commit to one English and/or Maths session a week.

​Everyone is welcome, regardless of how good you feel your current Maths and English knowledge is.

If you are interested in applying for an apprenticeship, you will need to have Functional skills Maths and English at Level 2.

Functional skills helps you to become more comfortable using English and Maths in your daily life and you can do this for free!!
