Postgraduate Medical Education

We host over 300 postgraduate trainees at ELHT and have one of the biggest Foundation programmes in the North West region, with an intake of 138 Foundation Year 1 (FY1) and Foundation Year 2 (FY2) trainees. In addition we have over 200 specialty trainees posts ranging from ST1 to ST8s. 

We make sure our Junior Doctors receive the best education possible so they can deliver the best care possible to our patients.

Induction

All trainees must attend a Trust Induction when they start work at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. Trainees must also attend Specialty and Local Inductions prior to commencing work.
