Postgraduate Medical Education - Induction
All trainees must attend a Trust Induction when they start work at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. Trainees must also attend Specialty and Local Inductions prior to commencing work.
Induction Materials
Trust Induction is held in the Learning Centre at Royal Blackburn Hospital. Please report to the Learning Centre for Employment Checks and Trust ID Badges. Directions are included in the Site Maps link above.
Items you need to bring
- Photographic Identification (i.e. Passport or Drivers Licence)
- Current Resuscitation Certificate (i.e. ALS, ILS etc)
Photographic Identification
This is required to check your identity. If you do not have a passport then you must bring a Drivers Licence card. If you do not have a passport or drivers licence it is vital that contact us before Induction day. Please contact Medical Staffing on 01254 732856.
Remember that unless we can verify your identity we may not allow you to start work.
In addition to Induction all trainees should make arrangements to meet with their Educational Supervisor to discuss educational objectives with their first four weeks.

Out of Sync Inductions
If you rotate out of the February & August dates you will receive a full bespoke Induction. You will be contacted and sent information on this prior to your first day. Please bring all the items as listed above. You will be emailed a programme for the day.
