Andy commenced the post of Communication Skills Lead here at ELHT in April 2020. He has a background of almost 20 years in nursing, specialising in Palliative care. Previous roles include; McMillan CNS in Supportive/Palliative care at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Education lead for palliative and EOLC care within a Northwest NHS trust, focusing on communication skills and Advance Care Planning.
He is passionate about education with a special interest in communication skills, at all levels, and firmly believes the way we communicate can have significant impact on patient care and outcomes.
Responsible for:

• The development of an organisational wide Communications skills strategy for ELHT, linking with Higher Education Institutions and the Health Economy
• Coordinate and implement Communication skills and advance care planning programmes of education, meeting the requirements of the workforce.
