Damien Lynch is a Consultant Physician & Gastroenterologist at ELHT, where he has been Divisional Director for Medicine, and Honorary Professor in the School of Medicine, University of Central Lancashire. He trained in general practice in Lancashire and gastroenterology in Yorkshire, where he undertook research into Helicobacter pylori. He has led the implementation of both Lancaster and UCLan MB BS clinical programmes at ELHT resulting in it becoming one of the largest teaching hospitals in the northwest. In 2019 he was awarded the William Cullen Prize for excellence in teaching and service innovation by The Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh in recognition of his work in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and medical handover. He is committed to delivering high quality education and training to medical undergraduates with a strong emphasis on pastoral care.
