Hello my name is Deborah Dudley and I have worked at ELHT for over ten years.
I qualified from the University of Bradford in 2003 and spent the first five years of my career at Airedale General Hospital in West Yorkshire.
Until December 2018 I worked in the operating theatre covering all three disciplines of anaesthetic, scrub and recovery nursing. This always felt like a privilege to me to see inside the human body, to see how it works and how it can fail us. This role has allowed me to develop a calmness in a crisis as I spent a large volume of time in ED as part of my anaesthetic role. I am a planner which illustrates my excellent organisation skills and can function well whether working alone or in a team. Within this role I worked with a large multidisciplinary team, all who had the ability to teach you something new everyday.
Taking the leap into Clinical Education has allowed me to combine my knowledge and love of surgery with my passion for education.
