Introduction to Orthotic Clinical Placements
Orthotics is a continuous growing profession and the role of an Orthotist is ever growing as medical technology and medical practices evolves. We support other Allied Health Professions with their treatment plans and are becoming a more common presence on several Multidisciplinary teams.
The BsC (Hons) Prosthetics and Orthotics degree (available at Salford and Strathclyde Universities) entitles both academic classroom work, hands-on clinical and manufacturing work in a university setting and clinical placements in a hospital setting. On your clinical placements at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, you will come into contact with a variety of professionals who will guide you through your practical training and prepare you for your future career as an Orthoitst.
Our aim for your clinical placements is for you to have an enjoyable and fulfilling time with us at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
You will have access to a range of clinic types to better your knowledge and understanding of orthoic principles and develop your practical clinical skills. All these opportunities will help to prepare you for your future career.
