SAS Doctors and Senior Clinical Fellows - Education Activities
Supervised Learning Events (SLEs):
It is expected that you will complete a number of SLEs, to be done locally in your department/area. These take the form of:
Case-based Discussion (CBD)
Mini Clinical Examinations (Mini-cex)
Directly Observed Procedures (DOPS)
The numbers you complete should mirror those in a training programme at the level at which you are working.
Local teaching:
You should attend local teaching as arranged within your specialty.
Learning Hub:
There are many e-learning modules on the Learning Hub that you might find useful. There are also bookable face-to-face courses. If you wish to attend any course held at the Trust you will still need to complete a study leave so that your time away from your work place can be approved and recorded.
Any required Core Mandatory Training should be completed via the Learning Hub, and an automated email will be sent to you when any training is required.
E-learning
E-learning for health is a great resource for learning and you will need an Athens password to log-on, which can be obtained the Trust’s Library. For further information, please see the website link below:

If you are an overseas graduate it is recommended that you complete the “Induction for International doctors “section.
Explore this and other on-line learning resources to find education that meets your needs. The BMJ Learning and Doctors Net both provide good quality E-learning.
