American University of the Caribbean (AUC)

ELHT has been taking students from the American University of the Caribbean for many years now. As part of the student’s course, they can choose to undertake clinical placements in the UK to widen their knowledge and develop a greater understanding of global healthcare. Our offer has always proved a popular option because of the high quality of the placements and the lower cost of living compared to the south.
 
Placements for AUC students are based across all ELHT sites. We are able to offer the following specialities, and most students attend for full core rotations (although it may sometimes be possible to arrange shorter rotations):

Placements will include activities such as ward rounds, out-patient clinics, theatre lists and attendance on-call.

It is sometimes possible to offer students low-cost accommodation on-site although many students choose to arrange a private rental of an apartment or house if they are staying for several months.
