For each year of your contract, you are entitled to a study leave allowance.

- Any weekend / courses attended in your own time still require a completed study leave form, due to the liability for expenses.
- Send completed study leave forms electronically 8 weeks before the course you are attending to:

- You are expected to pay for the course and any associated expenses. This can then be claimed for after your attendance on the course
- Study leave funding cannot be used for examinations, however the time for the exam should be applied for using the study leave form

Health Education England North West (HEE-NW) funding allows generic courses to be tailored to the needs of the group to support personal and professional development.
You are also encouraged to make maximum use of the HEE-NW bursary scheme which is around £1,000 and doctors have used the fund for developmental and educational courses. The bursary has been used before in many courses such as
