Clinical Activities Support - Life Support
ELHT Life Support Training is delivered by the Clinical Activities Support Team. The department provides standardised and organised training to teach theoretical and practical resuscitation. We support all learners in both their own working environment via in-situ training and also in a classroom environment. In addition to this, we also carry out life support training for stakeholders in the wider healthcare community. This ensures safe, personal and effective care for the patient. The Life Support Team is responsible for developing and delivering a wide range of training in all aspects of clinical skills, care of the critically ill and resuscitation, be it for new-born, children or adults. |
The Team is responsible for policy and procedures relating to resuscitation, defibrillators, resuscitation equipment and audit. We respond to cardiac arrest calls when able and are involved in debriefing. We work together with the Clinical Audit department to collect and analyse data for the Cardiac Arrest audit and Lessons Learnt.
All of our Team members are ALS Instructors, have both clinical and educational expertise, they continue to work clinically, and work to the current Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines.
